Dinnerware by Barbara — The Flame of Lifedinnerware logo

Barbara Lazaroff's Flame of Life, inspired by her original poem, was the centerpiece element gracing Spago Beverly Hills. As a Spago patron you'd be familiar with this elegant curved flame carved into the chairs and bar stools, emblazoned on the Spago carpeting, etched into the glass kitchen wall, and elsewhere in Spago.

A portion of each sale supports a good cause like Meals on Wheels and other non-profits Barbara has supported in the last 30 years.

sightingThe limited edition 16-piece fine china set is service for four in four vivid colors, each displaying The Flame of Life and one of the poem's inspirational lines.

Aviva Family and Children’s Services
The A Gala

Barbara is a long-time supporter of Aviva and, as always, looked forward to attending this centennial celebration which featured multi-platinum singer-songwriter, poet and actress Jewel as a special musical guest.

About Jewel's special performance, Barbara said this:

Barbara Lazaroff and JewelI don't often say I am a fan but I can say it about Jewel. Yes, she has the most fabulous voice, but hearing her life story, learning that she has truly triumphed over a rough home, then homelessness.... Her experiences connect so profoundly with the mission of AVIVA. I will ALWAYS remember her words, delivered with heart, humor and an authenticity that is often missing in so many today whether they are "celebs" are not. This woman is real!

The gala also honored Co-Founders of Platinum Associates Robin Broidy, Susan Casden and Linda May with Legacy Award; and Relativity with Corporate Responsibility Award.

Aviva Family and Children’s Services is a non-sectarian, nonprofit, social service and mental health agency with a mission to provide a comprehensive range of diverse and culturally sensitive therapeutic and educational programs help at-risk, emotionally distressed, abused, and neglected youth – as well as their families – function more effectively as individuals and within the family and community.

Whte Rabbit screeningWhite Rabbit is about a high school shooter in the making and the devastating effects of teen bullying. It seems that every time you turn on the news, there’s another story about someone who eventually snapped after years of bullying. We hope that White Rabbit will be a catalyst to opening up a dialogue about an issue that affects us all.

We've announced our new production company, Filmanthropic, where we will create socially conscious, mainstream movies and television AND generate funds and awareness for their causes.

Filmanthropic and Breaking Glass Pictures are hosting White Rabbit Screenings/Fundraisers in a 10-City Bullying Prevention Tour. Those proceeds will benefit: Variety the Children’s Charity and specific anti-bullying charities.

This is a great cause to get in front of…. and Filmanthropic’s business model is to attach cause to everything we produce!"
