Dinnerware by Barbara — The Flame of Life
Barbara Lazaroff's Flame of Life, inspired by her original poem, was the centerpiece element gracing Spago Beverly Hills. As a Spago patron you'd be familiar with this elegant curved flame carved into the chairs and bar stools, emblazoned on the Spago carpeting, etched into the glass kitchen wall, and elsewhere in Spago.
A portion of each sale supports a good cause like Meals on Wheels and other non-profits Barbara has supported in the last 30 years.
The limited edition 16-piece fine china set is service for four in four vivid colors, each displaying The Flame of Life and one of the poem's inspirational lines.
Wondering about this photo? One of Barbara's friends snapped this "Flame of Life Sighting" in Little Tokyo.

2016 Women of Action Gala
For the past five years Barbara has been a proud board member of the Israel Cancer Research Fund (ICRF).
The ICRF is the largest single source of private funds for cancer research in Israel whose breakthroughs are shared with the world. (501(c)3, tax I.D. 51-0181215)
Since its establishment 40 years ago, ICRF has provided over 2,200 grants, totaling more than $56 million, to outstanding cancer researchers whose laboratories are located in all leading scientific research institutions, universities and hospitals across Israel. With your valuable assistance, ICRF scientists and our international family of friends can find a cure.
"I hope you will consider supporting this ICRF annual gala. The organization appreciates participation at any level, because the funds we procure support such worthy and ground breaking cancer research. The other aspect of the value of the ICRF funds is that it helps keep the ‘brain trust’ of research in Israel, thereby supporting the country’s scientific infrastructure." ~ Barbara

Spago's 32nd Annual Seder

In April of 2016, Barbara hosted the 32nd annual Passover Seder.
32 years of second night Seders at Spago!
32 yeasr of of raising funds to benefit MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger — a national nonprofit dedicated to ending hunger among all faiths and backgrounds in the United States and Israel.
Led by Rabbi Rachlis and Cantor Braie, this seder is supplemented by the West Los Angeles Children’s Choir performing songs specially prepared for this seder.
Over the years, dinner guests have included many entertainers such as: Rita Moreno, Melissa Manchester, Lainie Kazan, Carol Connors, Max Ehrich and Gregg Sulkin, along with studio heads and directors.
Over 40 percent of the guests aren't Jewish. In addition to doing this as a fund-raiser, Barbara hosts this annual seder because " if you open your traditions and celebrations to all, no matter your religion, background or customs, it fosters tolerance, greater harmony and closer understanding among all people."
And another reason guests love this seder is its gourmet twist. After all, this is Spago!
Guests wait all year for the Spago matzah and macaroons.
